Київ 1980-х років був періодом зростання творчості та розвитку нового мистецтва, що називається “неоекспресіонізм”. Це була реакція на раніше домінуючий соцреалізм, який був притаманний багатьом країнам Східної Європи, включаючи Україну.

Kyiv in the 1980s was a period of growth in creativity and the development of a new art called “neo-expressionism”. It was a reaction to the previously dominant socialist realism, which was inherent in many Eastern European countries, including Ukraine.
